The roar of dirt bikes echoed throughout the Wheatbelt countryside for the first time this year as the Brookton Pony Express launched its 2026 racing series in Pingelly.
Round 1 of the Brookton Pony Express, brought to you by KTM, delivered another action-packed weekend of racing as Taj Moore and Ben Lynch claimed victory in West Pingelly.
Number 65 rider Taj Moore from South West Yamaha laid down a blistering Prologue lap time to secure P1 on the grid, before quickly establishing a dominant lead at the front of the field on race day.
Impressive performances by family duo Geoffrey and Lars (pictured) Carlton saw them finish narrowly off the podium in P4, while last year’s Junior champion Oskar Thomas stepped up impressively to the seniors rank and earnt himself a P2 finish alongside fellow debutant Kade Green.

Dirt High Promotions owner Willie Thomson said the weekend showcased exactly what makes the Pony Express series so popular and thanked everyone in the community for making the event happen.
“This was an awesome weekend of racing on a new track layout,” he said.
“The weather was absolutely perfect. We had 10mm of rain overnight on the Friday wetting the track, then beautiful sunshine the moment we go racing in the morning”
“We are excited for Round 2 and registrations are now open on our website!”
